Tom Hlas describes his work as - Geography of the Heart & Mind.  Born and raised near the small, rural town of Elberon, Iowa, he now resides in Norfolk, CT.  His paintings are informed by a patchwork of memories and musings and imbued with the seasonal colors of the countryside and ever changing sky.  Tom's painterly style and spirited use of color was inspired by the creative legacy of American abstract expressionist and color field painters.
